[titanic] rose on deck

neverjustbeing in paperletters

It's been nearly a YEAR since I last posted icons here. I've been a very bad icon maker. :( I've seriously neglected this community, and for that I am truly sorry. It's not to say that I haven't been making icons; I have, in fact. But for many reasons, I haven't posted them.

While I've made hundreds of icons so far, I'm only posting my Titanic ones, for now. I fully intend on posting more in a little while. I have a LOT more to work on.

Before I get to my icons, I have a few very important notes to leave you with. One of them involves giving credit to a very special person, emiv, as the inspiration for my icons. Please take the time to read them here:

[1] The one thing I have been really keeping up with is my resources page. The one thing I hate is an incomplete list of resources. Ever run across a resources page, that lists next to nothing, and when you ask where so and so foud these caps, or this picture, etc., they never get back to you? I'm the opposite. I don't have a problem sharing where I got my stuff; after all, unless I specify, none of it is my own. So therefor, information is supposed to be shared, and I'm not going to keep my resources a secret.

[2] Over the last year, I have become extremely fond of emiv's icons at her community, sweet__tea; in particular, her "Titanic" icons. I was fascinated with the coloring she uses and her unique way of cropping. After a while, I inquired into her coloring and cropping. She was extremely helpful, and even cited her explanation on cropping for me. (She even has entries explaining her style description, and her evolution as an icon maker.) She was quite helpful, very informative, and even went as far as to give me advice.

A lot of the icons I've been working on (and not just my Titanic ones), have greatly been inspired by emiv. Though I'm still certainly not up to par with her talents, I definitely feel as if I'm evolving into a different icon maker, myself. I like the idea of doing minimal work to an icon, resulting in something completely different. It's something I keep working on.

That being said, the following icons are apt to be very similar to emiv's work. I have tried extremely hard to not copy her exact work, and to make these my own. I'm sure that those of you familiar with her work, will also find a lot of similarities with mine. As I said, this is a constant work in progress, and I mean no "copyright infringement," for lack of a better term.

Without further ado...

[70] Titanic
